As TenTen takes her place, Gai and Lee cheer on their teammate. TenTen begins her initial attacks, throwing a number of shurikan. Tamari easily deflects the attack with her fan, and Shikamaru senses TenTen will be defeated.
Again, TenTen makes another move to calculate her opponent and find an opening. She then tries a more advanced attack, circling Tamari, wrapping herself in a ninja scroll to obscure her weapons attack. Again, her attacks are deflected. Tamari warns her she gets three freebie attacks before she will lose.
TenTen then pulls out two scrolls to use her main jutsu, Soushouryu (Rising Twin Dragons), and two large white dragons appear. She immerses herself in the two scrolls and jumps towards the ceiling as she throws a number of weapons downwards as Tamari. Still, Tamari easily deflects the attack and decides she's done playing.
Temari disappears into her fan and reappears from above. She attacks with Ninpou Kamaitachi, a whirlwind attack that sends a blast of wind at TenTen. She falls to the ground, landing hard on her back atop Temari's fan. She then tosses TenTen's motionless body aside, as Lee catches her. He then makes a move against Temari, but Gai steps in to stop any fighting.
Sakura thanks Naruto for cheering her on during her match with Ino. She woke up and was able to regain control because of him.
Next match, Shikamaru vs. Kin. Shikamaru is at a disadvantage because Kin already saw him fight and knows of his Kage Mane no Jutsu (Shadow imitation technique). Kin attacks with needles, one with a bell and one without. Her plan is to catch him off guard with the noise so that he falls into the other needle, which she's controlling with a string. Shikamaru barely dodges a critical hit. The vibrations from the bell sounds enter the eardrum and head up to the brain where they induce illusion. Shikamaru grabs his head and looks up to see an army of Kin clones. Sensing she has Shikamaru where she wants him, she prepares to send a number of needles his way.
Shikamaru isn't one to fall into a trap that easily and uses the strings to find the real Kin. He uses his Shadow technique to catch her. He then pulls a shuriken and throws it at her. She mimics him. Shikamaru then ducks at the last minute, but as Kin imitates, she smacks her head on the wall behind her and knocks herself out. Shikamaru emerges the winner.
