Naruto and Kiba begin with a few taunts as Sakura begins cheering and Hinata is torn between cheering for her teammate and her crush. Kiba is certain this will be an easy match. After all, Naruto was so bad in class. He couldn't complete a simple Hokage transformation technique.
Kiba attacks with Gijyuu Ninpou, Shikyaku no Jutsu, Beast Mimicry ninja technique, and rushes Naruto on all fours. The technique gives him super speed and with a swipe from his claw attacks, he knocks Naruto back. Sakura thinks back to when her team first met Kakashi, when they fought their first Jounin, and when Naruto punched Sasuke for being prepared to give up their scroll so easily during the Chuunin.
When Naruto gets up from Kiba's attack, Sakura then thinks back to Naruto's stamina when he fought the rain nins. As he gets to his feet, he warns Kiba not to underestimate him and encourages him to come at him with everything... including Akamaru.
Kiba throws a smoke bomb and Akamaru attacks. Naruto uses the opportunity to pull a transformation technique and when the smoke clears, a motionless Naruto is lying next to a happy Akamaru. Kiba feels confident in his abilities, but soon, Akamaru attacks him. Sensing Naruto, Kiba retaliates, but Naruto transforms again and captures the dog.
Kiba then builds his chakra and gives Akamaru a soldier pill. The dog turns red. Again, Kiba does Beast Mimicry Ninja Technique as Akamaru becomes half human. Then Jyuujin Bunshin! Half-Beast Clone so that Akamaru and Kiba look identical. The soldier pill is a stimulus and tranquilizer in one. It's high in protein and doubles Kiba's chakra, allowing him to fight like a beast. Each Kiba clone then attacks Naruto repeatedly. And finally, he does Gatsuuga - Double Fang Destroyer knock Naruto down with double spinning torpedo attacks.
Naruto isn't ready to get up yet as dreams of becoming Hokage fill his head. Hinata silently cheers him on, while Sakura is far more vocal. Naruto returns to his feet and vows that if Kiba wants fight for the Hokage title in this match, he will lose.
