The match between Hinata and Neji continues as Naruto continues to cheer. Soon, Neji gets a major blow in, striking her heart, and Hinata spits blood. Trying not to be discouraged, she continues to strike, but Neji counters each. His ability far surpasses hers. He strikes her arms, cutting off chakra points with each blow and explaining that his Byakugan can see Tenketsu (chakra points). He's been striking from the beginning at them. There are 361 points on the Keirakukei (chakra pathway). They're about the size of a needle point. If you hit these points exactly, you can stop the opponent's chakra flow or increase it. You can control it as you wish. Even Kakashi's Sharingan can't see them.

Once more, Hinata runs at Neji, the two strike, but Neji's hits and Hinata drops. The match is called and Neji walks away. Kurenai could not be prouder of Hinata's efforts. But Neji's final blow attacked the heart, and Gai announces she won't be able to stand anymore.
Before the match is called, hinata makes every attempt she can to stand up. She's shaking, but she still gets up. Neji asks her why she stood up. She tells him she will stand in front of the person she admires so much. Neji tells her a person can't change. There's no need to struggle anymore. She tells him people can change. He's struggling more than she is because of the fate of the Bunke branch. Neji runs to attack, but the match is stopped before Neji take one final blow. He is pissed the Souke gets special attention. Hinata then falls barely conscious.
Neji then warns Naruto to stop the meaningless cheers for others. He then says a looser is always a looser. That will never change. Naruto gets pissed, but Lee stops him from striking. He tells Naruto that he understands how he feels, but these things must be fought in a match. Lee tells him he hopes to fight Neji in the finals, but he would be ok if Naruto was Neji's opponent. Meanwhile, Hinata's heartbeat grows fainter and a medical kit rushes her to the emergency room.
Naruto takes some of her fallen blood in his hand and vows that he will defeat Neji.
